Thoughts on Hard Mode

At the moment, the game is pretty easy, and once cash flow is established, it's pretty trivial to keep making money.

I'd suggest that you put in an Extreme Mode to make things more difficult.

Examples are

- Kidnapping ; a client falls in love with a particular girl, and they elope.

- No cash for Jokers ; important in the early game, when 50 gold is, well, important

- no Girls for Jokers ; the quality employees from Jokers are part of what makes easy mode easy

- fights among staff ; each girl has a list of girls they conflict with. When the two of them are in the same House, their Obedience goes down

- Extortion ; the local authorities demand cash and/or freebies

- illness/ill health ; at the moment, health doesnt ever appear to change

- faster and more severe building degradation

- reduced number of rooms in high end brothels ; the Big House is, well, big. But if you want rank ups, then you have to buy somewhere intimiate, tasteful and very very expensive for those high-ranking clients to feel comfortable in


No girls for jokers and reduced rooms in the two high-end brothels are probably the biggest things to Hard Mode.

Girls lose health when you use management aim 'Drugs other girls' and drug them for increase in obedience.I am not sure about the exact health drop but I reckon it is about 1-3 per day.

I understand the idea, but not on some of the methods to get there. Gamers dont like bad things happening to their game that they cannot control or stop. if they 'lose' the game, it should be their fault, and they should know it.

Sorry for resurrecting this thread but I figured my ideas for the higher difficulties would be best put in here.

While hard difficulty is indeed more difficult to start with, it falls to the problem of being way too simple once you get a steady cash flow going.

So my thoughts on how one could possibly make the game more difficult without adding more, uncontrollable variables that ending up just screwing someone over are:

Prices: From girls, to slave market, to houses rooms and repairs, up it all by, say, 10% or so for hard difficulty, less that for normal. Or just one or two things, your call.

Health: Building and/or girls, drop it faster and on hard actually have the girl's health drop just by working, like in the original sim brothel, not too much, of course, but it's something you'll actually have to keep an eye on if you want a girl to keep working by having her take a break now and again.

Income: Either tax it by a certain percentage or, my original thought, have the amount more a girl can earn when she ranks up not as high as easy.
An example, just making up numbers here to show what I mean...
Easy- rank 1=10g, 2-15, 3-25, 4-50, 5-100, etc...
hard- 1-10, 2-13, 3-18, 4-30, 5-70, etc...

There's my two coppers on the difficulty differences.
