Main Girl

Hello, Glad to see that forum works,
I have a proposition about start, can we choose girl from list on the begining? Other than Urd, Bellandy, or Skuld?
I wolud be nice to pick Nico Robin or Lulu.

Two Big Boobs girls as possible starters? One should be enough.

But aren't the Goddess trio the main characters of the whole SM/SB series?

I am thinking even about randomize it, it is only suggestion, suggestion to pick other characters.

The main characters are Skuld, Belldandy, and Urd. As long as I'm here, that's going to stay that way.

Pooolka chose for them to be the main characters. Respect that. Besides, if you just randomize the girls, then you'll basically have no chance of personalization with the main characters. After all, you'd have to either use bland, generic stories that are copy-pasted with their individual names, or just have no stories at all. It's a lot better in terms of storyline if you keep some set characters. These set characters, quite simply, should be kept at the three we have.

However, in sandbox mode, I wouldn't have any problem letting you start with whatever girl you want, provided that there's no storyline whatsoever in sandbox mode.

Yeah, this was brought up before and the conclusion then was pretty much the same thing: choice of characters only in sandbox mode. We all have done lots of work on this, but it is still Poolka's game. Not just because he wrote the initial version nor just because he came up with the concept, but in that this is, in some ways, a sequel to Slave Maker.

Doing it otherwise would severely limit the ability to write engaging stories. Those stories, I think would not just benefit the game, but are almost necessary to its success.

I would caution you away from disregarding all non-owner specific stories as bland and generic. Pretty sure I know what you're talking about, and if so, I certainly agree--after all, most of the stories should be about the owner--but generic need not always be "[insert name] walked to town". Rather this generic character is an observer and narrator of events which she herself is not a direct part of.

The owner should be the focus, but occasionally fleshing out other characters and relations, giving them the 'spotlight', not only makes for a better overall story, but a more complex protagonist: those people we know make up part of who we are, right?

A practical reason for this, as well. Limiting stories to those involving just the owners makes it hard for other people to help out, as the plot is very much yours.
